Moss Stripe Moss

Latin name: Eurhynchium striatum

Size: Leaf size approximately 1.5 to 2mms long

Distribution: Found throughout the UK.

Months seen: All year round. Fruits in the autumn or winter.

Habitat: Woodlands, sea cliffs and hedgerows

Special features: The leaves of his moss are ridged and when dry have a striped appearance (hence the name). Has a very wiry, bushy shape and the leaves are triangular.
