Fungi  Yellow Brain Fungus

Latin name: Tremella mesenterica

Size: Grows to approximately 5cms in height

Distribution: Found throughout the U.K.

Months seen: All year round

Habitat: Found on dead branches of deciduous trees.

Special features: Colour varies from yellow to orange. Starts off as small jelly-like nodules and then expands into a multi-folded brain-shaped mass. Poisonous.
