Distribution: Found in most parts of England, Wales and the south of Scotland

Habitat: Prefers damp wooded areas, wet scrubland and gardens
Food: Invertebrates and seed. Will visit garden feeding stations in winter
Special features: Willow Tits have a matt black coloured cap which extends all the way down to the bottom of the nape. They have a wide black bib, white cheeks, grey-white plumage below and grey-brown plumage above. The edges of the wing feathers have pale cream coloured edges. The beak and legs are grey-black
Willow Tits are almost identical to Marsh Tits and the most reliable way to tell the two species apart is by their call. Willow Tits produce a nasal sounding "chay-chay-chay" call.
