Blackbird Nest
Dean Stables sent us this photo of a Blackbird nest at Thrybergh (N. Yorks). As you can see, its not the most suitable of places to build a nest - on top of a Calor Gas bottle outside a caravan.
Amazingly all the eggs shown above (plus a fourth one laid after the photo was
taken) all hatched successfully.
This photo proves it. It was sent in by David Williams who ringed the brood on 24th April. If
you look closely you can just see the beak of the fourth chick poking up on
the bottom left of the picture.
