Scientific name: Rana ridibunda
Size: Up to 13cm. Larger than other frogs found in the UK
Distribution: Found mostly in the southern counties of England
Months seen: All year round
Habitat: Ponds, ditchs, lakes and streams
Food: Small invertebrates
Special features: Marsh Frogs were first introduced to Kent in 1934. They are similar in appearance to the Edible Frogs and Pool Frogs. They're green and brown with dark brown (almost black) patches, and they frequently have a pale green stripe running down the spine. Their undersides are a creamy-white colour.
