Size: Up to 22mm
Distribution: Found mainly in central and eastern England
Months seen: April to August
Habitat: Damp meadows and hedgerows
Food: Adults feed on Cow Parsley, Nettles and Hogweed. The larvae live and feed on various plants including thistles
Special features: Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn Beetles are essentially a grey coloured beetle covered in tiny golden yellow coloured hairs. Their distinctive, downward curving black and white banded antennae are longer than their elongate body.
These beetles can often be found on umbellifers in spring and summer.
