This Lesser Yellowlegs was at Killingholme in North Lincolnshire on the 23rd
October, and stayed for about a week. It's the 11th record of this bird in the
county. Killingholme has the hide positioned facing south, so it looks over the River
Humber. Unfortunately this means you're looking into the sun all day.
This stonechat was spotted at Saltfleet Haven, in Lincolnshire on 23rd October.
Although these birds are not particularly rare in the UK, they are doing less well on the continent and is of European conservation
concern. For this reason it's an amber listed species.

This photo was sent in by Ian Turner from Bedfordshire. He was lucky enough to have this Hoopoe stay in his
garden for a couple of days at the end of October. Ian said it was quite happy digging on his patio and
seemed undisturbed by the sparrows and other resident birds which came to look at it.
